“I always feel welcomed when I walk through the doors! I love the warmups because it helps my mind get focused and prepares my joints and muscles to work hard. Coach Ashley has been really good about making things fun but always very focused. She keeps the energy and motivation high from start to finish which I appreciate because it helps me push myself and helps me feel good about my effort and outcome. During the finishers, I have to really push myself to keep going because it’s challenging. I try to focus on how good and accomplished I always feel at the end of each finisher to keep me moving! Also Coach Brad is usually there to make me laugh and get my mind off of the struggle! 😂 It’s always a really great feeling to make it to the end knowing I gave it my all! “One of the main reasons I was so motivated to join DRC was the trainers. The atmosphere is so good and every time I walk in the door I’m welcomed and surrounded by good people. In volleyball ankle injuries can be career ending. That is why I am so glad my trainer Ashley is so persistent in getting a good ankle warm up. During the training session, the trainers are very engaged, helping you with the correct form, and guiding you in what weight to do. The finisher is fast paced and really helps on the volleyball court. For me, DRC is great because I see my growth, it helps my mindset in volleyball because my trainer helps me work past my mental blocks with certain movements, and the environment makes it an enjoyable place to be.”

“Aspen highly enjoys coming to the DRC and working with the sports trainers! She enjoys learning about proper body mechanics and how to optimize her performance on the court.

One thing she has been working on implementing more is the education on nutrition. Before coming to the DRC she didn't know how to properly fuel her body for certain activities (practice, tournaments, etc).

Despite a back injury early in the season, the DRC and trainers have been able to modify her plan to keep her engaged and making progress after the initial setback. We are excited to see her progress this year after working at DRC!”

“I have noticed my daughter’s enthusiasm to get to DRC on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She has shown accountability and preparation by reminding me of DRC days, initiative to sign up to the class on the Wodify app and expresses excitement to train with other athletes. She now packs IV Hydrate packets and takes her "protein snacks" for lunch because she knows we have to rush from school to 5 pm class.

On the court, she says she feels "stronger" and can get to the ball "faster". She has stated that she feels stronger when she serves and less leg soreness after a tournament. I see her endurance improving on the court, too. One of her goals is to learn to" jump high" so she can get back row hitting and now I see her "practice" what she is learning at DRC. She is aware of her height limitations but has been much more positive about goals and more positive self talk.

Outside of training and practice, she is aware of the importance of breakfast including a quality protein and asks me for "avocado toast with egg white omelet" and post workout hydration and protein. And, she definitely has focused on getting to bed early on Wednesdays knowing she has DRC the next day.

Above all, the most development I’ve seen in Sophie is CONFIDENCE! 100% CONFIDENCE. She has walked out of DRC telling me "Mom, I love this" and "I did so good today.” She is learning that conditioning/weight lifting has lifetime benefits for her overall health and mental well being. As a mother to a female athlete, the greatest joy is to see her believe in her potential and have others express that same belief in her. Ashley and the team at DRC, have made a significant positive impact on Sophie's mindset, simply by greeting her by name when she arrives to class and encouraging her during the workout.

“As parents, any child that plays a sport, you find out very quickly, the level they play at. When your child expresses a "want:" to compete, you want to do what you can for them.

We'd been through a few "training" sessions with different trainers and facilities but when the owner of our organization presented our son with a gift for his hard work at baseball, we took him to DRC to see what they offered. The minute we walked through the door, they presented a comfortable environment and a place you KNEW you came here to work.

Sabin has worked with most of the trainers at DRC but he's settled in with one trainer now and it's made a difference for him. His strength has increased, his agility, speed and understanding of what his body is going through has been pretty impressive to watch.

Since coming to DRC, Sabin has gained almost 5 mph on his pitches, his hitting for his size is utterly impressive. Before DRC, his strength with his bat was pretty good, but now most balls are finding the warning track. His throwing from the outfield was great before DRC...NOW? His arm strength is one of the best on the team and he's not one of the biggest kids on the team by any stretch.

Proper training is key for a young athlete. Sabin was a really good baseball player when he came to DRC. You can visibly see the changes that DRC has made on his baseball game. Thank you DRC.”
